Pushy people are annoying

I would like to point out that the fact that I don't believe that there's some supreme being controlling my life, doesn't make me an atheist. I'm nobody's puppet, but I believe that gods are real for most people. However, I do think that it's crass in the extreme to try to force your religion on someone else. It's just like those annoying sales people that come to your door and won't leave even when you tell them that you're not interested in their wares. If a person likes something that much, that's great; but it doesn't mean it's okay for everyone. I find that Christians are the worst about trying to convert people, and I find that odd since Christians are supposed to be loving and tolerant, aren't they? So seriously, stop praying for me. I prefer to believe in my own ability to get things done rather than hope some noncorporeal being will step in and help me out. And besides that, since I don't believe in your god, I really don't have any hope for salvation anyway, aye?

The good news is that the heating on the heat pump still works even though the air doesn't.

The bad news is that we have no hot water heater now. We're replacing the heating element today, and if that doesn't work we can try the thermostat, but if that doesn't work I guess we'll be poor again. Yuck.

Because once a month is better than never

I've had a hard time writing lately because Mike is here in the mornings. By here, I mean up and awake; since Tuesday-Thursday he doesn't get home till four or four-thirty, he just stays up to get the kids ready rather than sleeping for an hour and having to get up again. Anyway, since I never got to see him I usually talk with him rather than do this. So.

We took the kids to the Stars game Saturday. They had fun, and even better, the Stars won. I wouldn't say they're doing abysmal, really, but if they don't find their offense, they'll not make the playoffs this year. And yet, they're still tied for third in the Western Conference. Go figure.

The Brits are being stingy with their programming again. I was all excited because Robin Hood was supposed to start back up on October sixth, but I realised rather belatedly that I was looking at BBC's website and not BBC America. We still don't have Robin hood.

Our air conditioning has gone out again. Joe told us back in May that it wasnt going to last forever since it had a leak, but it lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. It was hot the first week, but it's been pretty nice the last week or so, and we had a nice cold front come though last night. So I haven't been too worried about having it fixed just yet, but I don't know how it will affect out heat when the weather gets cold next month. I don't really know much about how heat pumps work.

So. Have to finish getting ready for work now, see you again in a couple weeks!

Hockey and fun jobs

Hockey started in earnest last night. Unfortunately, the Stars lost, which wouldn't be so bad but for that they didn't even show up to play until the second period was over. They made a game of it, but once again, too little, too late. Offense, boys.

Sometimes my job is so much fun! This is what I did today.

Too bad you don't get to pet baby zebras at work.

Yay hockey!

Hockey season has finally started!

I got to sit at home this weekend and watch hockey on Saturday and Sunday. The NHL had a premiere game this year which is something they do from time to time, so the season started a little early. Unfortunately the rest of the season still doesn't get underway till Wednesday like always, so now I have to suffer with no hockey for three days. It's very sad.

I thought our air had gone out again on Saturday, but it seems to be working fine now, so I don't know. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Still got a ton of stuff to do this morning, so I gotta cut this sort. Ta.
