Life, Random Thoughts and a Fair Amount of Hockey

I guess I have to go get some paint about two shades lighter for the entryway. Which kinda sucks, because right now it's the color I wanted, it just doesn't have any texture. For such a small area, this sure is turning into a big project... There just wasn't enough contrast with the first two paints I had.

uhhhhh..... stuff? I really can't think of anything interesting to say. It's hard to be creative and witty at four-thirty in the morning. If I had the time, I'd do this in the afternoon, but there's always a thousand other things to do then...

Happy late Easter, everyone! Today's still officially a school holiday, but I still have to go to work... us poor year-round employees don't get as many holidays... I have a feeling it's gonna be a long week. And no holidays in April. Yuk.

I've been painting in my entryway, but the paints I bought don't have enough contrast, and now I have to figure out what best to do to fix it. I was quite irritated. Cuz now I have to go find another color, and it took so long to pick this one to begin with! I guess that means errands after work...

We moved into out house two days before Christmas in 2001. Which means that I've owned my current stove for a little less than three and a half years. And in that time, I've discovered that I'm completely incapable of using the back burners. I don't know why; I just always turn on the front one when I try to use them. On the plus side. this means that I've gotten very very good at burning foreign substances off the front burners without setting off the smoke alarms....but it also means that I go through plasticware like you wouldn't believe...

I've discovered several interesting things about the Gaelic language; most notably, they don't use dipthongs because they're smarter than us. I believe dipthongs are the hardest thing to learn in the English language...words should sound like they're spelled. Also, they refer to their vowels as broad(a, o, and u) or slender (i and e) and broad and slender vowels get paired together-broad with broad and slender with slender. And, h isn't a letter, it's a tool, which is why there's so many h's when you try to decipher Gaelic words. You don't pronounce them, it changes the sound of the letter before it. There's a lot of extra letters because it was never meant to be written with the Western alphabet . Isn't learning fun?

My kitchen is a mess...

It seems that the United States Postal Service has lost my mortgage payment. Imagine my suprise when I got a nasty letter demanding payment. But do you think Mike called them yesterday? He'd better remember today... This is the second payment this month that hasn't made it to its destination.

I'm awfully glad this is a short week. I don't think I'd make it otherwise! Just today and tomorrow and then a three day weekend. The bad thing about Easter being in March this year is that there's no holidays in April. It's gonna be a long month...But May usually goes by pretty fast, so at least there's that...

Yuck. It's raining. Now, normally I like the rain, but I like it when I'm at home, not when I have to drive to work. I don't like it at work either...it just makes me want to be at home. I let the dogs on this morning, and appearantly it had already been raining because they were muddy. Which wouldn't be a big deal, except instead of going straight to the garage like they've been trained to do their whole life, spazzy Missy decides to take off down the hallway and leave muddy dog tracks. Dumb dog.

It was really nice Saturday and Sunday, so I got a lot of yardwork done. Still haven't fertilized, though; they keep saying it's supposed to rain. Today's the first day it actually has...

ugh...another week is finally coming to an end. I had hoped that this week would be easy, but more kids came yesterday than I had planned. We were low all week and then they all came in yesterday morning and man were they LOUD! It was nuts. I hope it was just because it was St. Paddy's day...maybe they'll stay home today.

I got Brandon's pictures back, they turned out much better than the Christmas pictures. We got the ones that Autumn and Jessica took together, too. They're really cute, too! Pictures ane going to cost me a small fortune this year. Good thing we get a 50% discount on them...

Well, it's only been a week....nothing new is ever happening! We went to Sarah's new house Saturday for Anna's birthday. It's really nice. Greg has a lot of way cool Star Wars stuff. i'm terribly jealous. I wish I could afford toys...I did see the trailer the other night. I can't wait for the movie.

My mom said she'll probably need me to take her to the dealership AGAIN today...I hate driving over there. It's over by Matlock and 20 and it sucks. I wish they'd get a truck that wasn't sick every couple of months...anyway, I'm running a little late, so I gotta go!

Full length trailer--over two minutes!-- of Revenge of the Sith premieres during the show " The OC" on Fox Thursday night (March 10) at 7:00 cst.

I've never seen this show. I think it's some teeny drama. Which is a little redundant, because isn't everything dramatic to teens?

Guess what I'll be watching for the first (and hopefully last) time Thursday night at 7:00?

How much you wanna bet it'll be in the last set of ads just to torment me?

In case you haven't looked lately, I did post some pics from Brandon's birthday...

geez..it's only Teusday. And look at that, I can't even spell it. Man.

Supposedly the owners and players are meeting again. Big whoop. I'm tired of getting excited about meetings ; all the up and down is bad for the heart.

I made the mistake of mentioning to Mike that Autumn was the only kid in her class that didn't have a parent going on the field trip, and now he's convinced that he can go. I think he's insane, personally...he still has to work tonight. But oh well, it'll be him that's tired, not me

This weekend wasn't much fun...Brandon was sick and I think I spent the whole weekend with a headache. I went to bed at 6:30 last night. Brandon did get to go to build-a-bear Saturday with Nana Fletcher. He got a monkey with a spiderman outfit and a skateboard. It's very soft and cuddly.

I can't wait to get this week over with...we have a three day weekend coming up...and by we I mean me-I took Monday off for a personal day because I CAN! We don't get a spring break in the year-round program, so I took off the first day of the 9-month's spring break for my spring break...
