soooo tired

I'm glad I don't have to work a full day today. I couldn't sleep last night because it was so hot in the house, and I finally had to get up and open the window. I wish I had thought of doing that before one o'clock in the morning, though. Brandon was coughing and Autumn crying and Mike was snoring....I really didn't want to get up today! But at least I don't have to work the rest of the week. Two more days till payday! Yay! And we get to go to the game tomorrow, and the Stars NEVER lose on New Year's Eve...

They tied last night, which was ok, cuz it was a really good game. I was this close to the TV for the last ten minutes...they all showed up for work, if you know what I mean. Kinda disappointed that Aaron Downey never punched anyone, though...

miscellany

So I've got this dish that I keep on the dryer that I keep all the stuff in that I pull out of the washer and dryer when I do laundry. There's about thirty-seven cents, a screw, an earring, a Barbie fairy wand, a My Little Pony charm, a rock, a bouncy ball, an army man walkie-talkie, a gold necklace, a hair band, a bracelet and a sticker. Maybe I should start checking the kids pockets...

One more short week and then it's back to normal...next week is really gonna suck. Five whole days. Yuck.

New Year's is coming up. I don't make resolutions. What's the point? No one ever keeps them. And why should we have a day set aside to do such things anyway? If something needs changing, then just do it. There's no reason to wait for a specific day...

toys are fun!

Well, I took a little break over the holidays, so there's not been any entries for awhile. We had a good Christmas, and the kids were happy with all their toys, so there hasn't been much destruction in the mornings...new stuff to entertain them, you see. Brandon got two remote control cars AND an electric guitar (a real one with six strings, only kid sized) complete with microphone and amplifier. Ask me how noisy my house has been. Autumn got a lot of pony stuff, she really seems to like the My Little Pony castle. They also both got camping gear that they think is really cool. I bought Mike the Lord of the Rings edition of Monopoly, so we've been playing that a lot. I've won twice, and gotten my butt beat (n) times. But I've won twice, and that's a miraculous thing when playing games with Mike. Two times I've come out on top. Wow. I've won twice. Go me! I got a cool Stars throw from Keith, and I bought myself a waffle iron. Yay waffles! Oh, and Mike got me a new robe. I've had the same one since I was about 15....

The Stars have been winning. Yay! And we get to go to the game on New Year's Eve this year, which is something I've always wanted to do but have never been able to. And thanks to Renée, we saved 10% on our tickets. Thanks, Renée!

I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. I plan on leaving at noon, though, hopefully Monday and Tuesday. Mike has to work Wednesday, too, but I don't. I do have inservice on Friday, but at least that's not real work. Mike only has off Thursday. Um, not much else has happened, though, so I guess that's it for now!

jingle bells...

Yay! It's almost Christmas! I have to work today and tomorrow, which will be boring since about 90% of the kids don't come, but if there's nothing to do I can leave. I have a plan of what I want to do, but I don't know if i'll get it accomplished or not...I still have to go pick up stocking stuffers after work today and then I'll be done Christmas shopping. Mike, on the other hand, just started yesterday, and I have no idea how he plans to finish...I've just got to buy My Little Pony stuff for Autumn (yay!) and Hot Wheels or Spiderman for Brandon and they'll be happy, but I think Mike's only bought a couple things for me and not anything for anyone else....

The Stars won again this weekend, which is great. They despretely need to get more wins, and more offense, if they're going to go anywhere. It would be supremely embarrassing if the Cowboys make the playoffs but the Stars don't...

I hate it when Christmas sneaks up on you. I don't like the years when I'm not waiting impatiently for it, because then it's here, and then it's over, and then that's it! It's depressing...

bah humbug

Well. I am finally finished with all the cookies orders...that's whay I haven't had an entry all week, I've been baking or dead tired! And now, three hundred and eighty-six cookies (and one cake!) later, I am finally done and now can officially enjoy the Christmas season. Yay!

Yay again! The Stars have much improved and are getting their injured players back, and have been not losing...Ummm, I guess I'm not sending out Christmas cards this year, since I still haven't bought any. I feel pretty bad about that! But at least I'm not Mike, who has not even started his shopping yet! We didn't even get out Christmas lights on the house this year. We really need to buy a ladder....

Christmas is coming..

The Stars looked better this weekend, although I don't really know how much of a difference it makes this far into the season. Unless they can pull off a miraculous turnaround in the next twenty games, they'll have an early tee time this spring. The season is well past it's first quarter and the Stars aren't even at .500...

Autumn's program is tonight. It's not till six-thirty, but she's already reminding me about any number of things we need to remember to do. I keep telling her it's not till tonight, but she's just so excited..

We got our tree on Saturday and decorated it yesterday. Well, I decorated it...Autumn kept stepping on the ornaments and Brandon was getting frustrated because his were slipping off the ends...

We got Sadaam!

Terribly sorry I haven't written all week; usually I do it before I go to work but I'm not used to Mike being here inthe mornings yet! I'll try to do better this week.

I was greeted with the news this morning that we got Sadaam. Yay! He was captured by the 4th infantry division, which, by the way, is Jeremy's division. Huh. I wonder if he'll get to come home sooner now, last we heard he was still stuck in Tikrit till April. I think he's been there since last spring, and he misses his family...

We had to take Zamboni to the vet yesterday, I don't know what's wrong with her but she was very very sick. I don't know if she's gonna make it, but I hope they can save her....I won't find out till tomorrow. Poor kitty.

Autumn's Christmas program is tomorrow at 6:30....she's very excited. They're doing "Christmas in Texas" and she gets to wear western clothes....Um, I guess that's about it for now....

Christmas programs

Yippee! I made it through Monday. This week's not going to be any fun because a whole lotta people are going to be out at the end of the week, like three or four people each day Thursday and Friday. Yay! That means I get to be all these people! Brandon's Christmas program is tonight at 5:00. I have to remember to bring him up to school then...I don't think the kids will let me forget, though. I'm more worried about forgetting the video camera! Well, I suppose I really don't have much to say this morning, so I'll quit before I start rambling!

My Little Pony

I went over to my mom's house yesterday to find all of my My Little Pony stuff for Autumn. She bought one of the new ones at Wal*Mart the other day and she just thinks it's the coolest thing (yay!) I was the My Little Pony queen when I was little. I found about half my stuff, I know there's still more over there though.

Mike starts first shift today (yay again!) so he gets to work normal hours like normal people. And I get to see him! And the kids get to see him when they get up!

I don't know what it is with all these gaudy inflatable light up gigantic lawn ornaments everyone has for Christmas this year. They're sooo ugly, and every other house has one out here. I hate the things. I just wanna put holes in all of them...

I had to climb a tree yesterday to get mistletoe. Autumn and my mom were both watching. I thing both of them were hoping I'd fall so they could laugh...

new kitty!

I'm so glad I get paid today. I always feel like an idoit when I bounce a check! And Mike should get paid today, too, thank goodnes..

The Stars played a late game last night, so I didn't get to stay up to watch it. Turns out that wasn't a bad thing, since they got shut out 3-0. They were doing well, but now thay've gone and dropped two in a row. And last night was an important game, as are the next three, all against divisional foes...

We accidently got a new kitty yesterday...it's cuz I'm a sucker for black kitties. One of the women I work with-her daughter, actually-had bought it for a friend's birthday, and the friend wasn't alowed to keep it, and she brought it up to work, and, well, now she's at my house. We named her Zamboni. She's really cute and playful, but she also barfed on my comforter. VJ doesn't like her much, though; especially when VJ found Zamboni in her spot on the bed...

rubber checks

I forgot to transfer money into my checking account yesterday, and I bounced a check. Oops! And for once, it's my fault and not Mike's! He'll be happy to hear that.

I guess I didn't write yesterday, but Brandon's better now. He had an ear infection (of course), so he's on antibiotics now. It's yucky medicine...

Autumn gets to go on a field trip to the Christmas tree farm today. I asked her if she was going to bring home a tree, but she didn't think so...I'm so glad tomorrow's Friday. We had one person out this whole week, and it's been a long week! Um, I guess not much is going on! I really need to get crackin' on my Christmas cards...I was going to make them this year, but I still haven't gotten around to it, so we'll see...

Sick AGAIN!

Brandon's sick today, so I can't go to work till Mike gets home at 8:00. He's been sick since Saturday at Autumn's party, so he's gonna go to the doctor this morning...

Autumn had a good birthday. She had fun at the Rainforest on Friday (Brandon thought it was a little loud), and of course she had a great time at her party. She's been getting up every morning since Friday going "Guess what? I'm still six!" She seems proud of that accomplishment.

I'm sure glad Mike gets paid this week. My check's gonna be tiny this week sinch I had to leave early with Autumn on Wednesday. I only worked about an hour and a half that day. And I 'm missing about two and a half hours today and probably tomorrow too, with Brandon being sick.

The Stars lost last night, but aside of that game, it looks like things are really starting to turn around for them. They'vw won four out of their last six, I think, and just playing consistantly better. Friday night they shut out New Jersey, who were on a thirteen game unbeaten streak. Hah!
