bleh!

Man, Autumn was sick sick sick last night. She says her tummy hurts a little still, I hope she's ok. The virus everyone else got lasted three days...I have to work at least 4 hours today or I won't get my holiday pay for tomorrow or Friday, so I hope she makes it that long...I'm going to try to clear it so I can leave earlier and still get my pay, but I'm not sure if I can! I hope she's not still sick on her birthday, or Thanksgiving...I think she'd be more sad about being sick on her birthday, though. We're taking her to the Rainforest Cafe (if you've never been there, you should go. It's a very cool place! AND, they have aquariums there!) and she's talked of nothing else for weeks. She's having a hard time getting dressed this morning...

I was reading Erin's blog the other day, and her entries are much longer than mine. She must have more time to write...of course, insomniacs are like that...

Well, I guess that's all for now...Happy Thanksgiving!

Erin's blog

Sorry there wasn't an entry yesterday...Erin has posted a blog too, and so I had to read it....you can read it too at www.erinford.crimsonblog.com !

My yard looks like it snowed. Or a hurricane hit. It's very messy. Zephyr drug both of Missy's pillows out of the doghouse-these are big pillows, mind you, they were the back cushions of my old couch - and gutted them. Fluff all over the yard, and it's all tangled up in the grass...it's a mess. He doesn't use the pillows, so I gues he decided that they didn't need to be in there...and now poor Missy doesn't have a bed...

Autumn has big news- she discovered Sunday that she has her first loose tooth! She's very proud.

I had to do a lot of cookies last night, and now my kitchen is horribly messy. I couldn't even get my coffee pot under the tap because the sink was so full. I hope Mike takes care of the dishes today....

Ties suck like kissin' your sister

Well. The Stars didn't lose last night...they tied. This is getting old...I think for the first time, I can lay this one right on Turco's lap. The first two were extremely soft goals...

I don't think Autumn is feeling well today. I hope that she makes it through school today... She was running fever last night, but she's not today, so we'll have to see--which reminds me, I need to write a note to her teacher.

bring in the new guy...

OK...the Stars go back at it tonight with a new look...Robidas was traded for John Klemm on Monday. While the Stars as a team were more than capable of stepping up and filling Hatcher's hole, the problem is that none of them actually did. Soooo, they're hoping that Klemm, who is a big, physical guy, will do it for them. Also, they've sent down Antti Mietenin and recalled Steve Gainey and Rob Valicivec. Which means scratching a couple of fowards...hmmm, so what are your plans tonight, Young? Oh yeah, and this guy Lehtenin..I heard he's pretty good, and he'll be back tonight...let's all thank the hockey gods!

Oooh...gotta go, I'm late!

Why do you lose my stuff???

I turned on the computer this morning and all of my personal settings were gone from Inernet Explorer. Again. It happened once or twice before....it's so annoying! All of my auto-fill stuff, all my "remember me" sites...I have to re-enter it all again! Arrgh!

The Stars are off till Wednesday. I don't know if that's good or bad, but the real good news is that we'll get Lehtinen back. Hopefully that'll give the team, if nothing else, a mental boost, cuz Lord knows they need it!

Kay got me a card table for my birthday( I know it sounds wierd, but that's what I asked for), so I got to break out a puzzle last night. I love jigsaw puzzles, even though Mike says they're for old people...I only like the 1,000 piece ones, though, because I can do anything else in a day and it takes all the fun out of it!

It seems I have finally fixed the problem I was having publishing...I haven't been able to publish for a few days because of an "invalid character"...I had to do a line-by-line hunt, but I found it! Yay!

Reynolds Wrap/Easy Cut Slider

I was at the store the other day and I bought this plastic wrap with an easy cut slider thingy. I was skeptical per usual, but I just used it and must admit that it was very cool. It cut nicely and must be mind-bogglingly sharp busause it required no pressure and left a clean edge. I like it. And while we're on the subject of grocery stores, what is it with the idiots whe drive the wrong way in the parking lot? There are HUGE yellow arrows at the top and bottom of each row indicating which way to drive, not to mention the dead givaway of which way the cars are angled. Yet some people persist in their thinkng that they are special and the rules somehow don't apply to them, or that their expensive car requires us to get out of their way...

We went out for my birthday last night. We saw Matrix Revolutions, which was, by the way, incredibly disappointing, and then we went out to eat. Mike didn't like our waiter because he (the waiter) was hitting on Mike. Not really, but that's how Mike felt. His sexual orientation was questionable...

I had to activate my Victoria's Secret card today. I hate calling credit card companies because they always try to sell you all the extra crap. It's always been my theroy that they hire playground bullies to be customer service reps at the credit card companies. They don't like taking no for an answer....

I got this great book from my mom for my birthday. It's actually a compilation of three books. Anyway, what it is is a book full of all those inane questions (i.e., why are bubbles round) and the ANSWERS! Yay! I've learned oodles in the last two days....

Dog Spit

I've got this bottle of water that I carry around that I've stuck a fake label on that says "Bottled Dog Spit." I thought it was funnier'n hell. Anyway, yesterday, I had picked Autumn up from her class and was taking her to extended care so I couId go to the store. I was already clocked out and ready to go, so I had all my stuff in my hands. Autumn graciously offered to carry my water. Now when Autumn asks to carry your water, what she's really saying is, " May I take your bottle of water, open it, put my lips all the way aroung the mouth, take a huge drink and then backwash all into it so that there's no possible way that you'll ever want to drink from it ever again, thus allowing me to have the rest of it?" So I said "you can carry it, but I don't know if you want to drink it. It's dog spit." She says, "nuh-uh!" So I told her to read it, and she very carefully sounds out the words on the label, and then she's like, Ewwww! Mommy, that's dog spit! Why are you drinking dog spit?! She wouldn't even kiss me good-bye when I left. She just ran over to her teacher and told her I drank dog spit....

We're going out tonight for my birthday, but I haven't decided where yet. We'll see the new Matrix movie and then eat somewhere. I'm gonna clean my house today, too! Yay! Unfortunatly, I'll miss the Stars game tonight, but I don't necessarily know that that's a bad thing....

Man. The Stars. Where to start? If they're going to continue to allow opposing players to walk in on Turco's net uncontested, they're not going to get very far this season. Their defensive play is so bad as to be mind-boggling, if not non-existant. Their star players aren't producing, and their third line is probably the best one. Part-time Star Trevor Daley looked like the best player last night, and Modano's play was some of the worst. Their capitan is -12 on the season, and they're sorely missing the bruising prescence that Hatcher brought to the team for twelve years. They're overskating passes, turning pucks over and spending way too much time in front of their own net. We can only hope that once Lehtinen comes back (possibly Wednesday) it'll give them an offesive boost. Or something.

Ok, now for a deep, cleansing breath... Today is Friday! Well, not for you poor schmoes, but I don't have to work tomorrow! BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Ooh, gotta go, still gotta pack the kid's lunches...

All I can say is that the Stars had better get out of this little funk tonight. I don't like supporting a losing team! I'll do it anyway...loyalty, you see...but I don't have to like it! I have to remember to decorate my cookies as soon as I get home so that I don't miss any of the game.

I have no idea what the weather is supposed to be like today, I've heard warm, I've heard cold, I've heard rainy.....I just put on a long sleeved shirt and I'll hope for the best!

I got all of Autumn's birthday stuff ordered, so now she keeps asking when it's gonna get here...I'll be glad when it does! Of course, then I'll just have to listen to "How long till my party?" for another two weeks...

Stupid plastic spider rings are NOT COOL!

One of the kids put one of those stupid plastic spider rings in the cabinet where I keep my plastic bags and it came flying out at me this morning when I pulled a bag out....I don't really like spiders. It was NOT FUNNY!

Man my kids are whiny today. That's all they've done since they got up. I'm sure glad today is Nana's house day...and speaking of whiny, I really didn't want to get up this morning. I'll be glad when this week's over...it's only Tuesday and I already feel like it's dragging on forever...

Birthday's coming...

Well, it was cold for a week, but I think it's supposed to be warm again this week...heh, I don't have to work on Friday, either. I'll get my house clean. Yay!

I sure hope the Stars get their act together. For such an offensively charged team, they sure are inconsistant. They've lost their last three games now, and the last two were 4-1. Arrgh! They have a couple days off, and then a homestand, so maybe they'll get it straightened out....it'd pretty bad when the 'Boys have a better record than the Stars...not that I'm complaining, I do like the Cowboys.

Autumn is very excited about her birthday...only three weeks left! Which reminds me, I really need to order her stuff...I want to do it Friday when I get paid, Oriental Trading usually ships pretty fast....maybe I should do it sooner, though...like today...I have to have it before her school party, which is on the 24th...two weeks from today....hmmm.

I hate short screws...

I have to replace the screws in the hinges on the utility room door....the screws they used when they built the house are really short and they keep coming loose. We've already had to do Autumn's door, too; of course, that's probably because she slams it all the time.

Autumn got her first report card today...she got "Mastered" in everything but right and left-she gets that with teacher help.

The Stars lost last night...it's not so much that they lose occasionally, it's just that when they lose, they lose so badly!

no workie Saturday!!

I told Mike yesterday that I wanted to try to go to the Stars game on New Year's Eve...that's always a good game. We'll have to get our tickets now, though.

I have to go to that conference thingy for work this Saturday. Talk about giving up your whole day... Mike's mom said she'd watch the kids Friday night if she needs to, but I don't think she will; Mike's never had to work ten hours on a Friday night before. The only consolation for having to give up my Saturday is that I have the next two Fridays off, and then the Thanksgiving holidays....I suppose that makes up for it.

I have the bag that I used to carry to work before Renee gave me the one I have now sitting by the cumputer desk. The kids had taken it to Mom's house Sunday...anyway, I keep trying to take the dumb thing to work with me even though I haven't used it for that in half a year or so....I guess I should put it away!

Every seat is a great seat at the AAC!

man, the game was great last night. Those seats weren't bad at all...I had been worried I wouldn't be able to see, but I guess what they say about there not being a bad seat in the house is true! Anyway, the Stars won 7-3; it should have been 7-2, but I guess Marty felt bad for Nashville in the last minute and gave them a little gift...and Billy Guerin got another hat trick last night!

Trick or treating went well on Friday...it was nice out, so there was lots of people around. Autumn got tired about halfway around the block, though.

So I got one of those wrapping paper organizers the other day-you know, those things with the pockets and straps inside for your wrapping paper and stuff, and they zip shut? So anyway, I put my wrapping paper and boxes and stuff in there, and when I went to put my tissue paper in there, I had decided to fold it all individually so that I could see what I had without taking it all out every time. Well. Apparently, I buy the stuff compulsivly and never realised it. I have an unbelivable amount of tissue paper. It took me over 45 minutes to fold it all. And the thing is, I just ordered another 40 sheets of die cut tissue paper a week ago...

This is the only full week I have to work this month...we get a paid day any day of the week of our birthday, so I toook the 14th, plus we get one personal day each quarter that I have to use this month or I'll lose it, so I took the 21st, plus there's Thanksgiving and the day after...so I get two four day weeks and a three day week this month...that first week in December's gonna seem really long....
