Merry Christmas!!

We did Christmas at me mom's a week ago today...she's in Michigan now so we had to do it early. She got me the super cool dragon books that I wanted from Barnes and Noble. I love that store. Also the cool light up snowman and a soft shir and some other stuff. My dad got us a tripod and gave me the really old Hobbit and Lord of the Rings posters he had. And probably some other stuff, I don't know. It's been a week, what do you want?

I've been feeding her dog while she's been gone, but the dog keeps escaping. Yesterday, the neighbor had rescued Ali from the dog catcher and brought her over, and I called my mom and asked if it was ok to chain her since she kept getting out. So today I went to feed her and the chain and her collar were in the yard, but no Ali. Dumb dog. I told my mom she may have to bail her out of the pound when she gets back...

It's wierd to be home on Christmas Eve. There's not much to do...not really any good movies on TV. I'm used to going to my mom's on Christmas Eve and we go to church and stuff. But Mike's working tonight so nothing like that. I'm about to load the kids in the car and go look at christmas lights.

Tomorrow's Christmas and we're going to Mike's mom's. He told her we'd be there at 1:00, but he also wants me to make rolls. Rolls take about 4 hours, so i find it unlikely that we'll be there at that time. I'm sure no one will be suprised if we're late...

Still no Roboraptor, but Santa Claus comes tonight.....

Yay!

The Stars shut out Ottawa!

Wait, wait, that made me grin. I want to say it again.

The Stars shut out Ottawa!

That's Ottawa, the team that has the most goals and the most points. Top of the league. The Beast From the East, if you will. And the Stars beat them. Shut them out. I'm fairly chortling with glee.

Neither goal was pretty. In fact, I think they were the ugliest goals I've seen. But you take what you get, and the Stars took them.

Dear Santa...

I've been really good, I promise.

Please please please bring me a Roboraptor.

He costs a hundred dollars here, but you've got elves for this sort of thing, aye?

Thank you!

Playing catch-up again

Been awhile again. Sorry!

Christmas is coming fast. Guess what? Not only am I not done shopping, I've not even decorated my house yet. We're doing the gift exchange thing with Mike's family again this year, and I've no idea what to make for that, either. We had this bottle of wine Mike was gonna put in, but then we discovered that it had ew sludge in the bottom. So now I've got to figure out what to do about that too. Yay.

We missed work today because of the weather. I kinda like having Thursday off, then there's only one day till the weekend. And thankfully, we don't have anything to do this weekend except get a tree. Yay!

Last Saturday we took the kids to a Brahmas game...their first hockey game! Autumn liked it a lot, but Brandon fell asleep in the third. They won, too; 4-1. All in all, not bad for minor league hockey. The venue was tiny though. it was strange after being used to Stars games and the AAC, or even Reunion. I miss that place. It was soooo loud there.

We still haven't gotten our tickets for the New Year's Eve game. I'm worried they'll sell out before we get them and it's always a great game! I want to take the kids this year, but being this late, we'll have to wait and see.

The Stars won again last night. Yay! Man, we do love our Finns here; three of the four goals were scored by the Finnish line. If only the Stars and Turco in particular (who, by the way, was named defensive player of the month for November after the Stars won I think all but two of their games in the month) had started like this, they wouldn't have to be doing catch-up. The good news is that they have games in hand over just about everyone, and so have a very good chance of taking over the conference lead this month. Time will tell...

Do you really think it will help....

Late last night, Boston shipped their star Joe Thornton to San Jose in exchange for San Jose's young core of Marco Sturm, Wayne Primeau and defenseman Brad Stuart. Thornton seems less than pleased with the deal, saying, "I was blindsided. On the one hand it's disappointing, and on the other it's good to start over again. When you don't win, there's going to be changes." He had signed a three year contract with Boston in the August, after being their captain for the past three seasons.

The real kicker?

Boston is dying in the East, languishing in 12th place with a record of 8-13-5....1-8-1 in their last 10. San Jose is worse...8-12-4 and 0-7-3 in their last ten. Both are last in their divisions. By a lot.

Two horrible teams making trades with each other. Who knows? Maybe they're on to something.
