West Wing!!

I had hoped it would rain yesterday, but it didn't. I was sad. It thundered and lighting-ed, but no rain. Oh well. I found out last night that The West Wing is going to sart playing on Bravo in August, starting with the first episode. I'm happy. I've missed the last two seasons, and I miss watching it! I hope it's on at a decent time and not really late...hmmm, come to think of it, i hope we get Bravo...surely we do. Autumn's pep rally is on Monday, and she's sooo excited. She likes cheerleading. But she keeps saying she's going to Pepper Alley. It's pretty funny. Right now she's whining about getting her shoes on. That's not funny, it's annoying...

How much wood...

I find it very important to learn something new every day. I'd not want to let my brain get old and feeble! Dosen't really matter what, it's the act of learning that's important, imparting new wrinkles into the grey matter. I am a veritable fount of useless and inane knowledge, but I do enjoy learning things. That being said, I feel I must share what I learned today.

Do you know what male and female woodchucks are called?

Are you ready for this?

He-chucks and she-chucks!

Seriously, guys, I'm not making this up. He-chucks and she-chucks. Isn't that great?!

Please come to work!!

ugh, work was a mess yesterday. Only one class had an assistant, so, of course, I have to be assistant for five classes...it wasn't fun. Mike did call about 10:30 and say his interview went well, he said he'd hear from them again today or tomorrow... here's hoping!

I can't wait till October. This heat is killing me. I don't much like summer. It's so hot and sticky, and I don't like not being able to go outside, either. I like spring and fall best. Well, that's it for this morning, let's all pray that maybe this time the job will come through for Mike!

Waaaah...

it's almost 5:15 in the morning, which means it's Whine Time in the Parker household...Brandon's not that bad, but Autumn wakes up about as pleasantly as I do, which is about as pleasantly as a bear. Plus Mike told me he'd get up when I did because he has an interview this morning and he wanted to get an early start...of course, he didn't want to when I got up and I made him anyway....

Brandon's been coughing a lot this weekend, I hope he doesn't get sick...I woke up with a head cold or something too. It's my sinuses...yuck.Anyway, need to finish getting ready for work...

Time to clean...

Man, I really need to clean my house....I don't think I've given it a thorough cleaning since the kids were gone...I'm not entirely sure that's how you spell thorough....come to think of it, I'm also not sure that's how you spell entirely...

I did manage to finally scrape off the stickers Brandon placed on my oven door forever ago....I had thought Bob the Builder and friends were going to be permanent residents in my kitchen, but I have sucessfully evicted them...now if I could just get the rest of the house clean...

I started a load of wash without realising that I had no more detergent, so I had to use the free sample of Tide I had laying aroung. I hate that smell. I feel like it's wafting through the whole house, permeating my skin and hair with that god-awful Tide smell...

I have to go to the grocery store tomorrow. I probably wouldn't hate grocery shopping as much if there were a store closer to my house....well, no, I think I'd probably still hate it. I don't like lines...I never was just really good at waiting my turn...

Bye-bye, Syd

Yeah...it's finally Friday! This week has drug by as slow as can be. I'm soooo exhausted! I just want to come home, go to sleep and wake up sometime Saturday afternoon. Unfortunatly, that won't happen...

The Stars dealt away Daryl Sydor the other day. Daryl Sydor!- in return for Teppo Numminen and a second round pick from Columbus. I think Columbus is one of the few teams that was actually busy this off season...again, I think they're just trying to make up for being called the Blue Jackets. But we already know how I feel about that!

It appears that Mike Modano found his one and only Stanly Cup ring for sale on eBay yesterday. His business manager says it was a "misunderstanding" and claims he thought he was authorized to sell the ring. Right! I'm sure he thought that Modano would so casually want to get rid of this ring. Mike got it back...I'm sure the business manager got a good chewing, too!

I got the book I was waiting for on the mail on Wednesday, so I've been hiding in the bedroom for two days reading. It was good, but now I'm done with it and I have to wait another year or two for Terry Goodkind to write the next one...I like his books. I've got all of them...And Tom Clancy's new book is coming out soon, too, we'll have to get that one ...hopefully Mike gets a job soon!

If wishes were horses...

I'm so sleepy.....I hate summer. It's so hot, and it makes me not want to eat, and it makes me tired, and there's no hockey...I can't wait till it cools off. I hope Mike gets a job soon, too. And as long as we're wishing, I can't wait till we win the lotto...

I think Brandon's sleepy too. He's in his room screaming for no reason, and anytime he does that, you can bet money that he falls asleep as soon as he stops crying.... Anyway, I think that's it for now. I believe I'm required to go play Polly Pocket or something with Autumn now....

Yay! Books!

I remembered to go to the library yesterday. Yay! I like having new books to read. Speaking of new books, the one I ordered should be here soon. I hope by the 29th or 30th. It's released on the 21st, but I opted for the free shipping so it'll take a bit longer than usual...I can't wait...

My parents got a new puppy. I want to go play with it. I've seen pictures of it. I think it's a girl...anyway, it's a black lab mix and it's soooooo cute. I'm gonna take the kids over later to see. Um, not much else...still job hunting...

Help us find a job!

I've made it halfway through the first week back to work! Maybe we'll win the lotto tonight...

I forgot Brandon's snack day was tomorrow...well, I didn't really forget, but I thought it was on Friday, so I wasn't prepared. So now I have to stay up and make cupcakes. Oops. I had wanted to do cookies, but cupckes are faster, so cupcakes it is! Wow, and is it ever hot in my kitchen...

Mike had another interview today, but the guy told him they were probably gonna hire the other guy. Nice. I can't wait till he gets a job...with as many places he's applied at something's bound to turn up soon! Um, I suppopse that's all the news I have, not much else is going on....I guess I should attempt to clean my house...

Reality check

Well, it seems reality has come back today. I had to get up when the alarm went off. Ew. Really it wasn't so hard today, it'll be tomorrow that it's really gonna be hard to get up.... Like Mike said, I'm glad to be going back to work because I'll have something to do, but I'm not happy to have to do something...I kinda liked sleeping whenever I wanted!

Mike never heard back from James Hardie where he was supposed to get that job...he's called three or four times but he just gets thair voice mail. There's another job out in Flower Mound that he felt like he had a chance at, so I guess once again we'll just wait and see...

I must go get the kids up now, hopefully I'll remember to write tomorrow...

Why, Roman?

Well, now it seems an unnamed source is saying Lyashenko left a suicide note. Who would do such a thing? I feel for the guys family. I never have headr anything but good things about Roman, I mean he wasn't psycho or anything - course, he wasn't a goalie either, so he wouldn't have been.... I wonder what went wrong?

The kids came home today, and man are they ever grouchy. AND i got rid of the poodles! Man, you wanna talk about some hyper dogs...They were happy to see my parents, and I was happy to see them leave. I like them just fine at mom and dad's, they're just annoying here!

Mike's still job hunting, but I feel like he's getting closer. As he says, he's had some nibbles, just hasn't reeled anything in! He's supposed to call back about the one in Waxahachie tomorrow...

Rest in peace, Roman

huh...got some sad news this morning...it seems Roman Lyashenko died over the weekend. Following is part of the news article...

ISTANBUL, Turkey -- New York Rangers forward Roman Lyashenko was found dead in a hotel room while vacationing in Turkey.

The Rangers said Monday the cause of death wasn't immediately known. However, Turkey's Anatolia news agency reported it was a suicide.

Roman Lyashenko played 17 games over parts of two seasons with the Rangers. (Getty Images)  Yuri Koritskiy, a Russian consular official, said the 24-year-old hockey player had been with his mother and sister in Antalya, a southern Mediterranean resort province popular with Russian and other European tourists. He said Lyashenko died Saturday but would not provide any other details.

The Anatolia news agency said Lyashenko apparently hanged himself with his belt in his hotel room.

Man, things like this are so depressing. He was only 24, and a good player too...

My mom's house got broken into yesterday or the day before...i can't see that they took anything though, they must not have been too bright. Made a mess, though...

A boring entry

Um, so, still not much going on...Heidi said her and Jess might come over later, so I won't be bored for a bit...heh. I've already cleaned everything that can be cleaned...well, except for my bedroom, but that's really beyond help...too much accumulated crap, you see. The kids come home Wednesday, I think, which means I get to send the pseudodogs home then too. Dio's taken to hosing all my corners, the little turd.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow wether or not Mike will get that job , he's supposed to go take the tests tomorrow, which shouldn't be a problem; and I guess we'll find out after that. I don't know how long that will take...It'll be nice to have a second income again!

I should be on the beach!!

Hatcher in red?

Wow. I'm already bored...I kinda want to go buy some new shoes...Oh, don't act so suprised, I do occasionally act like a girl, and I do like sandals...

Derian Hatcher went and signed with the Wings yesterday. The Wings! Why don't you just go ahead and twist the knife some, Hatch? Sign with the Wings indeed. It's bad enough that they took Hullie from us...I still havn't forgiven them for that. Detroit takes all our good players...I guess they're incapable of training up their own, so they resort to taking franchise players from other teams...like Dallas...and I know it's really Dallas' fault for not re-signing them, but it's a heck of a lot easier to blame someone else, isn't it? And of course there's the impending salary cap and all, but still.... I can't believe anyone was insane enough to give any player a 5 year deal! Derian, you make me sad. Modano will get the C now, of course, I don't think there was any real question about that... Colorado got Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne-they'll be a team to watch with that dynamic duo. And you know Kariya took like an eight million dollor pay cut just to play with Colorado for one year? Columbus has been busy, too, picking up Marchant, Trevor Letowski and re-signing Cassels. I guess they figure if they sign enough power, they can overcome the fact that they're named the "Blue Jackets." Not exactly a name that inspires fear, is it? All I can say is that it had better be the best season ever, what with the collective bargaining agreement expiring and the prospect of NO HOCKEY next season...man, that'll really suck a big one....

Happy 4th!

Happy Fourth of July!

We should have left tonight to go to Mustang Island....oh well, though, what can you do? I think I'm just gonna do nothing today. Wow, that was really bad grammar. I thought I'd see im my puppies could be friends with me mom's poodles last night...turns out it wasn't such a good idea...I had let my dogs in because it was so hot, and the poodles were in their room, so I carried the poodles out to the living room where my dogs were. It took me an hour to find PJ after Missy snapped at her, and Dio kept trying to pick a fight with Zephyr...I thought about letting him down, but figured my dad wouldn't appreciate getting pieces of poodle back...I finally gave up and put them back in their room. Um....not much else, I guess. I wanted to go to the library yesterday, but I forgot. I think I'll just clean up and sit around today...

Still kidless

Yeah! It's Friday! At least, as far as I'm concerned it is....Sorry it's been awhile...really I've just been lazy. I've been coming home from work and falling asleep, just because I can....it's been nice. And quiet (except for PJ's yapping) And my house is still clean. I talked to Autumn last night...sounds like she's having a good time. She said I couldn't talk to Brandon besause he was asleep.

Mike has an interview this morning..let's hope it goes well! I've let him come home for the time being, as long as everything in general goes well he can stay....Um, not much else, I guess...it's hard to have news when there's no kids!
